What materials would be best to choose in a recurve bow (and arrows) that would serve as a very long-lasting, hardy survival bow in damp and rainy northern climates?
Osage orange Should add due to wild supply, ash and hickory are more abundant. That said ash needs a bit more consideration in preparing wood ahead of time.
Y butash izabit more flexable, tbough not season prperly prone to stressor cracks good for lower #and long bow over recurve
I was thinking more along the lines of what materials to look for when buying a bow, not the available materials to make a bow oneself.
Well you can buy bows in all three of those woods and a combo of said, if going custom. Other than that composite, man made.
What the hell was that? Ash is a bit more flexible, though if not seasoned properly prone to stressor cracks.
Would composite bows me more prone to warping? How would those woods compare to man made bow materials?
