I looked for threads on this as I know there are some somewhere, but can’t find them. So, here we are. What’s your favorite/best bow you have had or currently own?

I am rocking a Diamond Black Ice from 2008 that I have loved but I’m finally going for an upgrade. It’s that time. I finally have the opportunity to get that Mathews, Hoyt, or whatever come along. I’ve heard great things about the Halon and Traverse. I also really like the look of the RX-1.

    Thanks for any replies!

I really have two favorites. The first one you'd have go back into the '90s to get. It was a Hoyt Provantage that I think was about 48in axel to axel. That thing was a sweet shooter. My next fave was more recent and my last compound. It was an Elite Energy 35. I never drew a bow that shot as smooth as that one did. It had a very well defined back wall and could really lay yhe arrows in there. 'Course now, I'm one of those evil devil-worshipping crossbow shooters so all that's in the past!

I'd have to say my 2012 PSE DNA. It shot so fast, so heavy, and gave me so much confidence. I miss that bow!

Not sure, but I’ll let you know.
Two years ago, I’d have said my Hoyt Deviator Carbonite with Command cams. Loved that bow! In 2020, I bought a Hoyt Axius Ultra, probably the last bow I’ll ever need or want. It’s a pure pleasure to shoot for me.

My Hoyt Razortec was my all time fav of the 3 I own. This year I, purchased my upgrade(signature). Between the 2 my CD30 is my overall best shooter @63lbs. Feels so easy @ draw/hold.

Black ice is a great bow! I still have mine but upgraded to an Elite energy 32. I love it! It will probably be the last bow I buy.

I just bought a set of Barnsdale 50# limbs for my E32. They are smoother than the factory limbs. The lower draw weight should keep me in the woods with a compound for many more years.

2010 Prime shift, bought it one year used when I was 15 years old, I’m 26 now still shooting it with no retirement in sight. Between falling from 18’ twice in Illinois, to being submerged in the ocean on the shores of Kodiak island, the thing has never given me a problem. Can’t wait to see what my 11th season with it will have in store!

I'll throw one more in here.. favorite bow I never owned, Mathews Z7. Regretted not buying that bow. I was a big fan of my Hoyt Katera, but that was the first new bow I ever bought so I am probably biased some because of that. I really liked the mathews creed also, I kind of miss the solo cam and the big wooden grip. I do feel like my answers change every time I do one of these, I guess it depends on the day. To a fault, I have bought a new bow every year for the past few years... its hard to say any of those could be a favorite. Back when I was keeping a bow for multiple years was when I could really get a good feel for it.

I remember seeing the Z7 for the first time and was in awe of it. I was a teenager at the time and just had got big into bowhunting. My dad wouldn’t let me have anything but a crossbow at the time.

I shot my PSE Beast daily (OK.. daily'ish) and loved it. Blacked out, red string and stabiliser etc. Amazing bow.

Then I bought my Hoyt RX-5..

It makes my Beast feel like a recurve.

The only bow I have ever kept is the Mathews HTR so that one gets my vote. I’ve had four others in that amount of time but always keep the HTR and sell the others

My favorite is a Elite Spirit that built to go 70 pounds…followed closely by my PSE Mach 1.

Mathews Z7. Sometimes I regret trading it. Have seriously been looking into getting one again.

Past was a Jennings Machined Extreme, right now I'm shooting a PSE EVO NXT 35 and like it a lot.

I liked my Z7x. Didn't love it. Was glad I sold it (to a fellow forum member) who has killed at least a couple deer with it and seems to love it.
To me, the back wall was more like a spring- always wanted to creep farther back and always wanted to jump forward. But it was a good shooter, super smooth cycle, dead in hand and dead nuts accurate. Just up in a treestand with a rutty buck turning you into a pretzel, damn thing wanted to jump out of my hands all the time and start stabbing.
