I've always used to two prong style of launcher but I've been thinking about trying a fall away for this upcoming year so I was wondering whats everyone's opinion on the best fall away for hunting? And can you give reasons why you think its the best?

I don't have one, but am looking into the QAD ultra drop away rest. It has a really good design and can lock your arrow in place so it will never fall off the rest. It has a system where you can use your thumb to lock the rest up in place which traps your arrow into place, once you shoot in drops down and has a locking system so that when you shoot the rest locks down and won't bounce up and potentially hit your fletching as the arrow passes through.

Havent used it yet but my Maxxis 35 is on order and I hvae that very rest sitting here to have put on it for all tha same reasons Jay has metioned. But as you know from already looking into it, its a little expensive too. Sometimes quality is worth the extra $$$.

the maxxis 35 is a bow, not a rest. I'm sure you can find pictures on the maxxis website.

I'm a fan of the rip cord. I liked the concept of their rest when it first came out and still love it. I have shot it for 3 yrs now and no problems.

I am sure you will get several different opinions because there are several good rests today. Last fall I went from the Golden Key Futura Micro Adjust prong style rest that I had used for about 11 or so years to the Quad HD. It had the specific features that "I" wanted and I am very satisfied. The Ripcord is very similar as well. I wanted a full containment fall away rest that I could manually load to the shooting position instead of the forks rising with the draw and also I wanted to be able to let down from full draw without fork movement. If you go with the QAD don't go with the cheaper models, get either the LD (lock down) or the HD. These 2 models will lock down the forks at release so there will be no "bounce back". The HD is the same as the LD except it has a harmonic dampener built in and that makes it a little more expensive. Just make sure you look at several different types and decide what features "you" need or want. Good Luck!!!

There are a number of good quality fall away rests. I prefer the Limbdriver for the primary reason that it uses the limb to activate and not a cable. Ease of setup and timing are also good reasons.

My wife is now using a new Ripcord and loves it. I'm impressed with it myself. I am using a Limbdriver and love it. If I were to change from the Limbdriver, I think I'd seriously consider the Ripcord.

I've hunted the last few seasons with a Limb Driver, coupled with the a Sims shelf kit, the arrows stays where it should before and I get the peace of mind of a simple proven rest.

I shoot a pretty large diameter shaft (2413) but the Spott Hog Whammy holds it very well and it has been an excellent performer for me.

Well, I don't know what the "best" fall-away is, as I've only tried 2 different fall-aways. The Ripcord and the QAD Ultra HD.

I hated my Ripcord! It was noisy even with the Sims pad and no matter what I did, I could not get it to drop fast enough.
Last week I bought the QAD with my new bow, I was leary because it resembles the Ripcord, but so far, it's working perfectly. I have no complaints yet, but it's only been a week.

Obviously, others have had good luck with the RC so, who knows...

I love my vital gear rests! Fulll contain, bery secure, and the new pro uses the limb to actuate the rest. You can flip the bow upside down and the arrow does not move xD

I have heard good things about both the Ripcord and the QAD's. I currently shoot the QAD LD model.
I like it "now" but when I first got the thing it was improperly set up at the shop and I couldnt get it timed right for nothing!! I finally just broke down and tuned it myself and within minutes I had it working flawlessly.

I like the option knowing that the rest is going to stay locked down once its shot and not bounce back. I dont think the Ripcord has that option yet?

I would buy a QAD again, but definatelky stay with the LD or HD models!!

    Gd Luck
