there are exercises specifically designed to keep the rotator cuff in good shape. would recommend including those in your program.
BARBELL CLEAN AND PRESS!!! best upper body exercise ever! do 3 sets of 5 as heavy as you can go. three days a week. in a month what you draw now you will be able to draw like its 20lbs lighter
If you have never done Olympic lifting before start slow and make sure you have perfect form. It's a great exercise but it can also do a lot of damage if you don't do it right. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
This is true. I find that as long as you have relatively good flexibility. you will be fine. I did powerlifting for years. Then i decided i wanted to look more fit. I had alot of trouble with oly lifts for a long time do to limited shoulder mobility. I still for the life of me can not do overhead squats Keeping reps low will help with keeping good form. just dont watch "crossfit" videos to see how it should look. hahahaa
A good gym excercises is standing one arm cable rows..... Can actually put bow hand on machine, then w a single grip handle, mimic the drawing morin to your anchor point, count to 10, and let down. You can practice half draw hold, etc that way. Don't forget the bent over rows as well, as these will work on your Lats, and scapular musculature that helps hold steady at full draw. Hope this helps!
I've been doing one arm dumbell rows and seated rows. In addition to front and lateral shoulder raises as part of my routine in the gym. I've noticed my bow getting way easier to draw.
The bowfit exercise band works well. As would many of these exercises from this link. http://www.bowhunter.com/bow-fitness/workout-routines-for-bowhunters/
The best thing to do is just shoot ALOT! Obviously the best way, trust me, it worked for me, just slowly build up every time it starts to get easier.
