They make a little rubber device to hold your arrow until you actually draw. It contains the arrow completely so it is quiet. It costs $10 and is very nice. I didn't want a drop away until I saw a friend that had it. I also just purchased the NAP apache and it seems really nice.

I have switched from the Apache to an Ultra Rest LD. I love how the Ultra Rest contains the arrow even after letting down from a draw. It shoots great as well. Both the Apache and Ultra Rest are great rests, however I am partial to the more contained arrow.

Not intending to hijack the thread but has anyone used the Arizona Archery Enterprises DOA - full capture fall-away rest?

Just put a QAD Ultrarest HDX on my new bow. So far so good. I like that you can capture the arrow and go ahead and lock it in the up position to keep the arrow captured. It's also nice that it doesn't come down if you let off. I've also used an older trophy taker and it worked just fine, it just didn't capture the arrow.

View attachment 18930 I use a Whisker Biscuit and I shoot pretty good with it from 50 yards (SEE PICTURE). This year I'm hunting in December also, but I have heard that the Biscuit will freeze in the winter. Thinking about a drop away. Any problems with it freezing in the winter?

Just switched over to the new Vital Gear drop away, I had the NAP Apache on before and have no reason to go back.

Another vote for QAD ultrarest hdx pro. This rest is excellent and made in America. I switched from the made in china apache I was using last year. It's a nice rest also, but not as nice as the QAD.

My vote goes to ripcord never had an issue till a bow shop cut the sting when transferring it to another bow. Even after that i sent it to them and they sent me a brand new upgraded model. The excellent customer service they have given me in the past is reason enough to give them my vote.

I use the Trophy Ridge Revolution and I love it. Like was mentioned, it locks closed to hold the arrow at rest.
