Nicely put, couldnt agree more. I love my tattoos and feel like they express me pretty well, ive been completely sleeved out for almost 7 years and havent regretted getting anything one bit, like I said im going to be to worried about living my life to care in 40 years.

I hear ya. I guess it a generational thing.

I get it's a form of expression or art work but just don't judge others that don't appreciate that expression of artwork. I just turned 50 and all the people I know that have tats wish they didn't now. They've out grown that period of their lives and they have a "permanent" reminder of their more carefree days that was usually with another person and not their current spouse.

I'm not trying to get in a pissing match I'm just voicing my opinion. As I've said before, I was going to get one back and even went to a few tattoo parlors but just never found anything I liked.

And do you know they use needles for that:) again I joke.

Yeah, I guess the pain is another part of getting cool tats. I see that.

It's always brought up by those of us who are old enough to have witnessed the slow effects age and gravity have on "things".

You'll see it someday as well. :D

Just remember you are severely stacking the odds in your favor by looking for tattoos at a water theme park in the Midwest... Lmao that's like commenting "boy there sure are a lot of vegetables here" as you stand in the produce aisle...

I'm not a fan of tats. Like it or not the visible ones are judged in the business world. Sure I've been with a few chicks who had sexy tats but its not something I'd ever want done myself.

Yeah but older WW11 guys that fought in the pacific did it because they fought and survived a World War and I think it was like a life bond with the other solders. Not sure an 18 year old girl really has achieved anything so major in her life by then to need to tattoo it on her body. Unless she played inthe olympic and that would be a cool tat:). I think it's more about telling mommy and daddy " I'm 18 now and I can do whatever I want to my body, see :-b" and then there's the other kids that do it to be cool or look like a tough. I get it, I smoked cigarette and pot as a kid to be cool but when I out grew it it was over. Tats, not so easy to move on from.

I get you guys that sleeved your arms and there's no going back on this topic but I'm just tellin you my 50 year old point of veiw.

Every one of my tats is symbolic to some thing or point in my life. Some remind me of great things, some remind me of bad things and serve as reminders. They all have their purpose. I won't even do a tat for someone anymore if it doesn't seem to me that it serves a purpose for the person. I have made many poor decisions in my life and many great ones, my tats remind me of all of them. They chronicle that journey.

My Grandfather, was one of those guys. In his mind those tattoos had been earned and were worn as badges of honor. Most of his tats were in fact symbolic to his service. Ships he had sailed on battles fought etc.... But one day I couldn't resist asking about the one tat that he didn't know I knew he had. A naked woman....... lets just say he never again gave me a hard time about my ink lol

Love and miss ya Pop Pop!!!!

That's cool. I know a few people that got a tat one night when they were wasted:). I didn't realize you we're a tattoo artist which gives you a very unque insight. Thanks for enlightening us.

It really truly was! He was a great man. A wealth of wisdom, stern yet soft, I could go on all day... a lot of good things can be learned from that generation!

And for the record, at least in my state, it is not only unethical to give a tat to someone under the influence but it is also illegal.
The human body / brain does not process pain the same when under the influence of alcohol or most drugs. 9 times out of ten, five minutes into the tattoo someone under the influence will either be in a cold sweat or unconscious.
