You have a great point. I like something like a Game Plan Pass Through.

I wish somebody would make a thin hard bow case. I have a Plano and it had to be 8" deep easy. I have a small truck so when I load up to head to Ohio or we load the bows in my friends side by side to cross his farm it takes up a lot of room. Maybe I will give a soft case a try.

Cases are a waste unless flying IMO.

I hardly ever use a hard case. Usually strap the bow to the backs of my driver or passenger seat for transport.

Agree. For local hunting, which is 98% of my hunting, my bow lays on the back seat of my truck.

Illegal in Illinois to have an uncased bow in a vehicle.

There trying to change that I think. At least that's what somebody tried telling me the other day when I was looking at bow slings.

Unless otherwise rendered inoperable - meaning it can be uncased so long as you have something around the string/cables preventing it from being drawn back. I've heard of people using the buckle strap from their release around the string/cables and this being legal.

Really? That seems kinda odd, but so does a lot of other laws...lol. Just never heard of that anywhere before. Wonder what the reason is...

Is that suppose to prevent poaching or drive by shootings with a bow? Word on the street is drive bys with archery equipment have been on the increase ever since Chicago, Oak Park, Aurora and Cook County passed all those magazine capacity limit laws. :p

Surprised they don't require you to have a FOID card to buy a bow. Well I guess that would be a AOID card. lmao!

    Don't give them any ideas.

Justin's right about making the bow so you can't pull it back and that passing. I've also heard people say watch what you use because sometimes whatever it is will slide down. If the officer picks up your bow and whatever it is slides down and they're able to pull it back then you'll get a ticket.

What a stupid law. Like it would take less than a second to flip the latches and then pick up the bow. Clearly someone who never has pulled a bow back enacted this law.

I drive a standard cab S-10. There is no back of the seat really LOL. My gear is on the seat beside me so my bow often has to go in the bed. Even with a cap and rubber mat I'm not just throwing it back there. Plus like I said when we take my friends side by side, our bows are on the roof rack because our stands are in the back. You are asking to mess up your bow not using a case in these circumstances.
