Love my Parker. Have to shoot till you find the one for you. I've never been to a bow shop that wouldn't let me try the bows out before deciding. that would be like going to buy a car and not getting to test drive it.
For every person you find that will say they will ONLY shoot that bow, you will find another that will say they'd never own one. It just depends on the person. You might like a completely different bow manufacturer than your buddy, but that doesn't mean either of you are wrong. Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech are supposed to be the top three manufacturers. PSE, Bear, Elite, etc. are also all great bows. It just depends on you. Shoot them for yourself and get your own preference. I'll never let a name sale me a bow.
If you're talking about speed: pse bowtech hoyt mathews If you're talking about quality: Hoyt Hoyt Hoyt Hoyt If you're talking about shootability: Bowtech or Hoyt mathews pse For $300-$400 take a look at the turbohawk. GREAT bow for the price. Hoyt actually had to stop making them because people would buy the turbohawk instead of their 7 and 800 dollar bows.
I own a bear strike. The only complaint I have is the quality of the ready to hunt trophy ridge accessories. I only shot the bear when I bought it and now I wish I had shot a few more bows in my price range. Don't find a bow let it find you
I have a Parker Spitfire, i love this bow...i got mine at Cabela's and had a guy fit me out, measured draw length and all, and shot the bow in the range in the store. Knew after shooting it a few times that it was the one
We can sit here all day and say PSE is best or Hoyt or Darton. It all comes down to what works best for you. I say go into getting a new bow with an open mind. Go to the shop and shoot a few different bows. It's good to get opinions from other hunters but it all comes down to what works best for you.
I dont think I would get another Mathews, they are very nice bows and almost perfect but there is still just that little thing that i cant put my finger on that dosent feel correct. I have had a couple bowtechs & a diamond befor & they were great, light, sleek looking, unclutterd & very easy on the eyes not to mention shot real nice. going back to 2007, I had a Bear Truth & hands down I will still say that was the best bow I have ever had & regret selling it. this year I test shot the Bear Carnage & mathews z7 magnum, ended up with the magnum for the simple reason I can use my bowmaster press on it, the carnage otherwise had the edge on it. in all when the time comes for another bow it will be a Bowtech or Bear. this is just my opinion.
