Will some people rank these in order from best to worst and if there should be some other brands higher than what I named put those in please: Bowtech, Hoyt, PSE, Matthews, Readhead, G5, Genesis.... Im looking into a new bow but I see some good looking cheap bows.. $300-400.. But I don't know if its a cheap crappy brand

just so you know, there is no "best" because everyone will say the bow they shoot is the best. only way to figure out your best bow is to shoot different brands then pick the one that feels the best to you.

    This is spot on.

I would look at Mission bows instead of Mathews. Mission (made by Mathews) is at the pricepoint you are looking for.

yes, i got a mission ux2 last yr for $350 and LOVE it!! It's great performance for the price and the quality of the bow is more like a $500 model. I give it a 5 star+ rating. very easy to shoot and super accurate.

st of the Redhead bows are actually made by Bowtech. It's no secret I've shot Bowtech's for a few years now. I was disappointed in their lineup last year, but there wasn't much out else out there for me to be intersted in either.

I've I was shooting something other than a Bowtech, it'd be a Hoyt. Mathews makes some good bows too. They just keep perfecting the Switchback. Bang for your buck....Bowtech's Assassin, Mission Archery, Diamond....look at the box stores for special makeup bows too. BP has a great bow made up from Bowtech's parts. It's a single cam Air Raid. Got one set up for my brother in law this past year. Wish they made it in LH, I'd have one hanging right now. Loved me the Original AR. Should have hung on to it.

Buy bows is fun. Have fun doing it. Shoot a ton of them.

PSE is a good brand at your price point also. Like my teammate said, you need to shoot bows to find the one you like the best. Everyone shoots the "best" brand, yet all shoot different brands. It's a personal choice.

Don't Overlook the Bear line up, they keep getting better and better each year and are very affordable.

Mission is a really good company with fair prices for their products. Their like a sub-company of Mathews and they use the same style builds for their bows. I like my new mission bow, it has exceded my expectations.

it will depend. i have heard that some of the big name stores will only if you are buying that particular model. best bet would be to find out where your local bow hunters go to get their stuff. sometimes smaller mom & pop places are better. also don't let them pressure you into any one particular brand. I lucked out and the shop i went to had a few of their personal bows there and they let me shoot those to get a general feel for the bow. then when i decided which one i liked i set mine up right there, tuned, and shot some in the indoor range.

    Yes,
They will let you shoot their products and that would be a requirement for me!
Mom & Pop Bow shop would probably be best.
Look around kick the tires and don't let anyone pressure you to buy!
Take your time and ask questions!
    1. Hunting or Target?
    2. Strength and Size?
    3. If Hunting what are you hunting etc.... etc.....
    4. Definetly use a shooting release!
    Good Luck!
    And Have Fun!

As said before, take a look at the Bear bows. I think I paid $350 for mine, and I have not had any problems at all with it.

If I went back to compounds I like the look of the Bear bows myself iHunt.

My personal advice on the best bow is the one that you feel comfortable with and you can pick up and kill your intended target. That bow might be $99 or $999.

I went with a PSE Stinger. Not because of price or brand name but simply because it felt best in my hand and because it was the bow i felt most comfortable shooting. I would strongly recommend testing a bow before purchasing!
