I had a long day at my local bow shop yesterday and my back muscles are a little stiff today. I tested the new 2015 lineup of bows and I must say there's plenty of fun new designs out there this year. There's something for everyone and there was something new in store for me! I've always been a Mathews fan and was sure I was going to get the new No CAM, I also really liked the new synergy, but actually preferred the Energy 32 from 2014. I tested Hoyts' new lineup, Bowtech, Bear, PSE and lastly I thought I've never even touched a G5 bow...why not? I could not put it down. The new Prime Rival is an absolute stunning bow! Visually its beautiful, and it has such a smooth draw and accurate letoff I couldn't believe my eyes. Its not the most compact bow or the fastest bow, neither is it made by one of the biggest companies out there, but its deadly accurate and feels good in the hand. I don't need a bow that shoots 350fps to kill a deer, to me its about accuracy. I've got a 2016 Africa hunt planned and this bow will be the one coming with me!
Don't let the prices get you. If you find a good dealer you will get a few hundred off Sent from my Z665C
I really think the bow to have in your hand for the 2015 hunting season is a Nitrum Turbo or a Chill R.
I've been a Mathews fan boy for 9 years now. However if I were buying new, I would go with Elite. And I really want to get my hands on a Xpedition as well.
I shot a couple of the Xpedition and was not impressed. Draw cycle was one of the harshest I have drawn in a long time. I was however impressed with the Obsession line I shot. Prime is still at the top of my list and I'll probably go with a Rival for 3D this season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ive been buying Obsession for the past three years. I received my Phoenix about three months ago. I am really pleased. I should have an Xpedition Xcentric 7 in my hands by late next week. I used to love the hybrid cam systems like the X uses, but I really like the 2 track cams on the Obsession. I cant wait to compare the two bows!
I would by the HTR but I am a mathews fan, thus a bias source. However, you cant go wrong with a Mathews!!! Ever!!!
No idea? I've been shooting the same bow for 11 yrs I honestly hate paying for new bows when the one I have still does the job just fine.
A lot of bows for 2015 look and feel great, but it was the one that shot the most accurately that I ended up buying.
