I shoot a mathews z7xtreme currently, I said I wouldn't buy another mathews until they made one better...to date IMO that hasn't happened. However that hasn't stopped me from shooting the new offerings since then. Two that standout from the past are the G5 prime defy and bowtech carbon overdrive. If it were up to me and not my wife (haha) I'd be shooting the overdrive right now. I'm excited to shoot the new offerings for 2015 and see the improvements each company brings to the table. Based solely off of looks alone without shooting any, I'd say I'm most excited about the Hoyt nitrum. I'm curious to see how my opinions change after spending some hours at a pro shop.
:-) I knew you were bro.. no worries! On another note. .. I wouldn't mind shooting an obsession bow. They look pretty sweet.
I shot a lot of the bows that have been mentioned here. I had always shot Hoyt, but tried to go into this new adventure as un biased as I could. After all the drawing and shooting, drawing and shooting, I can tell you (IMO) that just about every major archery company makes a quality shooting product. I honestly wouldn't have minded buying any of the top end bows. All that being said, I ended up with the Hoyt Nitrum 30. There were some a little smoother drawing, a little faster, and maybe even a little quiter, but I felt like the Nitrum gave me the best mix of it all. If it hadn't been the Nitrum, it probably would have been the Elite.
I try and shoot as many of the company's bows as possible each year. I'm always in the market for a new bow if there is a bow that I really do like better than the one I am currently using I'll buy it and sell my bow. But if there isn't a significant difference or feature that really stand out then I like to stick with my bow. I've shoot close to 10 different bows and here are the top ones that appealed to me. 1) G5 Prime Rival 2) Hoyt Carbon Spyder ZT 34 3) Bowtech Prodigy 5) Elite Synergy
I agree with that! The Pheonix looks sweet, but there is just no support around here for them. -Andrew
I am in the market for a new bow for next season. I have spent my first ten years with the beginner level set up in my signature. Since it will only be my second bow I am going with whatever I feel shoots the best with a 70 lb draw weight, 300+IBO, and a 32-34" axle to axle for around $500. I have not shot them yet but I like the looks of the Bowtech Fuel, Bear Cruzer, and Diamond Core
I shoot a ballistic and love it. It cast $450 bare. The craze I'd a good one as well. I've heard good things about the blaze as well. Any mathews dealer should also sell mission since they are the same company.
Another one in that range, just a tad bit more. The new PSE Premonition HD. I shot it the other day, VERY nice bow.
If I were going to buy one it would be either the Hoyt Nitrum 34 or Hoyt Carbon Spyder ZT in Blackout.
Lot a nice looking bows this yr.would like to try the mathew wake.hoyt nitrum looks good to as well as the faktor.with prices of some of these bows it will never happen thow.
I've been really impressed with Hoyt's consistency of producing quality, innovative bows. I don't need a "revolution" with every production; I appreciate the incremental improvements, knowing each production will provide reliability. That said, I've sold most of my old bows (keeping only my 2007 Bowtech Commander) and bought a 2014 Hoyt CST when they came out. I enjoyed shooting all the bow offerings I got my hands on, but was most impressed with the Nitrum line and retooling of the Synergy.
I just bought the nitrum. Great bow! Best bow imo. Shot the pse's, Mathews slo cam and bowtechs and nothing came close to this thing besides the new martins! Check those out! They are awesome as well.
