I know there have been quite a few products to hit the market in recent years like the S4 Lockdown, the one offered by Badlands, etc that are a bino carrying system, and also protect the binos too. What do you guys have experience with and like the most? After someone helped themselves to my Zen Ray ED2's I had to pick up a new pair of Nikon's Monarch 5's this weekend and I'd like to keep them in good condition. I scratched the bottom lens pretty good on my Zen Ray's the very first day hunting with them while climbing down a set of climbing sticks when one of the pegs hit the lens on my way down. I'd like to make sure this doesn't happen again to my new set of glass. I looked at the Lockdown's yesterday, and my only concern with them was that if I'm wearing those, along with a climbing harness, and my Badlands monster pack.........that's three sets of padded shoulder straps I'm wearing on the hike into the stand. I used to just use the Crooked Horn bino straps and felt restricted in movement with a harness and pack, I'm afraid another pair of padded straps it will be worse. Anyone know if one of the new harness companies have a bino containment system with a cover to protect the binos that I should consider?
I am interested as well. I have the cabelas harness on my zen ray ed2 and would like to find something a little more loose.
I have a Cabelas bino harness I used last season. This year I switched to the lock down x by S4 and its the best I've used to date. Quick access, secure to the body, with some protection you don't get in other harness systems.
I have the Crooked Horn with rangefinder harness that I have worn with my Badlands 2200. I have not shot with both the pack and the harness on, but have not really felt restricted with them both on while walking/hiking/climbing.
