I have been looking into a affordable, light weight and packable climbing stand. The one I have come down too is the API Marksman. What are your thoughts on it or is there a better one out their?

I have the marksman. This is my second season with it. It is light and packs nice. Get rid of the back pack straps that come with it and get a set of molle and waist belt off ebay, you cant even tell that its on your back. I have to hike a good mile up hill to get to my stand. I have an old loggy bayou that is more comfortable but feels a lot heavier. I have did all day sits in the marksman and it was fine for me. But if you are looking for comfort go with a summit, if looking all around lone wolf but you are going to spend $$$. Also I advise for any treestand get the third hand stabilizer straps they make any treestand rock solid in the tree. But for under $200 I think the marksman is a great buy.

Not sure what your looking to spend but field supply and wing supply have XOP (lone wolf clone) climbers and lock ones for 159.00-239.00 I believe. Light weight and a proven design.
