Ladies and Gentlemen, Previously, I posted a question on a number of sites regarding what folks thought was the “Best Bang For The Buck” in a bolt action rifle. I received a broad range of opinions but in the end there was a clear consensus (Savage). Today I ask the question: What do you believe is the Best Bang for the Buck in a recurve and/or long bow? Thank you in advance for your participation, Konrad
Yesterday I found a real nice "Best Bang for Your Buck Deal" I found a 45 pound StickBow made by a local Bower here in the Flathead Valley for just $32.99 at a local pawn shop that needs some TLC to get it restored to its luster. The owner called it a junker, but I call it good because I view it like an old car that is still running great, but has a very oxidized finish. I will be gently sanding off what is left of the the old finish and rough feel. I will probably stain the wood using Tru-Oil Bow Finish or I was thinking on using the Thunderbird Sealer I found in my 3 Rivers catalog. This bow is also screaming for cedar shafts to be shot from it and we will comply.
Absolutely, you have found the unquestioned Best Bang for the Buck bow! TLC will go a long way and you will have a great story to tell the grandkids. When I was a kid, comic books were all the rage. There was a character who found an old walking cane in a shop. Later, when he rapped it on the ground, it became the Mjöllnir hammer…and he became Thor. You never know what you may have found!
