Hey guys, ive been trying out all sorts of arrows and have gotten the feel for many companies. So far ive enjoyed the Eastons, buying them at 400. Due to being in college i cant afford to get the nice Easton Arrows, so i work with the $70 6-pack arrows Easton has to offer. What do you think are the best arrows for Dear Hunting? Anything will help, Thanks!

    P.K.

Peoples posts will probably be as varied as the people posting them. I'm a fan of Gold Tip Hunters.

Gold Tip Hunters? Whats the price range on them? Is the higher priced the arrow the better??

Have you checked out the Carbon Force Radial X-weave STL hunters? Inexpensive and I think they group good. If I had more money, I'd like to try out the Maxima Blue Streak (straighter and more uniform weights).

Those Carbon Force arrows are what my buddy shoots and he said the consistency is great also. ive got a draw length of 28 inch and poundage set at 65... should i bump up to arrows at 500 or stick at 400?

Make sure the spine is correct. If the spine is 500 or .500, the arrow will probably shatter at 65 lbs. I would go a .400 or .340 depending on weight up front.
Look at easton bloodlines, they are cheaper and fanstastic arrows.

^^^ Easton bloodlines are great. Im using them this year. 60$ for 6. These are actually one of the best arrows ive shot recently. the nocks on them fit great.

Like what was previously stated, everyone has a different opinion. I think the most important factor in a hunting arrow is KE. This is why I go with Easton FMJ's, they fly very well with a broadhead and are slightly heavier than most arrows. Yes, they may fly a little slower but I will get more penetration and quicker kills than someone with the same setup and ultralight arrows. The only way I would switch to a lighter arrow is if I was hunting out West where 40+ yard shots are not uncommon. Lucky for me, I hunt the river bottoms of Iowa so I rarely have to shoot farther than 20 yards. :)

That being said, these arrows are very expensive, around $130+ per dozen if you buy them new. Keep an eye out online for people selling them in hunting classifieds and you may get a great deal. I picked up a dozen fmjs last year for around $60 and love them.

I shoot Beeman ICS Pro Hunters. I love them and recommend them. But I would also say that the Radial X-Weaves are my second choice. I shot these before and they were pretty good, especially for the price. Stay away from lower end Easton stuff. I shot Easton platinum raiders and I wasn't impressed. They were inconsistent.

I shoot ICS #400 and they are ok. I bought a half doz last year and I only have 2 arrows left. They keep on breaking on me. I was thinking about using bloodsports #350 this year. Price is around $60 for half doz

You should've asked what arrows everyone is using cuz you're gonna get every brand under the sun.lol. In my opinion, get a popular brand in the specs you're after. They'll work.
