So I am looking into some new arrows. I currently shoot Easton Fmj 340's out of my element rkt at 72#'s 29" draw with 28 inch arrows and a 100 grain point. My local pro shop guy told me I should go down to 400's because the rkt's should be a medium cam. I like the full metal jackets and i wouldn't mind going down to a lighter arrow to get a little more speed but i worry 400 is underspined. Opinions?

I used the Fmj 340s and switched to the 400s.. They are still heavy enough for hunting, truly work perfect for me and just like you said, you get a bit more speed. I even asked a couple of guys at pro shops about switching from the 340s to the 400s and they said it's just fine, especially with a heavier arrow, which the fmj 400s are compared to carbon arrows. My ce rkt is set at 70# with a 28" draw. Hope this helped you.
