Looking at buying the Beman ICS Hunter arrows. I shoot a Bear Lights Out 70lb pull and need a 30" arrow. What size shaft do I need?? Anyone with a similar set up?

Eastons website has a good shaft selector. I've got similar numbers and i shoot a .340 spine, with a 125 grain broadhead.

I have the ICS hunters cut @ 28" out of 70# and 160 grain points have no problems. I'd suggest a .300 spine for you though.
P.S.- Ill be buying different arrows soon. out of a doz., I was able to get 6 that passed the spin test, and the ones that passed didn't pass by much. I have one that I can say is truly straight.

I shoot 63# 28" Draw 29.5 arrow length beman 400's. I shot 300's and they were really bad with broadheads.

Is the only difference between the 300's and 400's, the grains per inch? Is that just the weight?

    No, that's the spine.

The spine is a measure of how bendy the arrow is, and a lower number means its stiffer.

Generally, higher the draw weight, stiffer the arrow, lower the spine number.

Also heavier tips will need a stiffer arrow for a given draw weight.

I believe it, you're shooting a long arrow. Long arrows want more spine too.

I shoot 30" 300 ICS at 68... My 70 pound Hoyt maxes out at 68... I love my 300s. I shoot 4" feathers through a biscuit and can should pretty much any head I want and group them with my field tips.

Before I bought my Matthews I used a Lights Out and the 340 was my shaft of choice at a #70 draw.

I have a Bear Lights Out, set at 70 pounds. My arrows are 30.25", and now I'm shooting Bloodline 330s. Before, I was shooting Cabelas Stalker Extreme 340s. They shot well.

Cool sounds good. Is your Lights Out noisy? I bought mine when it came out in 2008 and I've replaced the supressor three times because it split in half. I shoot atleast once a week and I guess over 4 years I'd consider that normal wear. I just didn't know if you used any other type of silencer?

    Yes... 115 4 blades. Sometimes 125 3 blades. Can't tell a difference.

Awesome. That's definitely helped narrow down the search. I think I'm going to go with the 340's due to the fact that's what ****s sporting goods has and also I used the shaft selector wrong, went back and looked again and it's calling for 330's and 340's.

With the Whisker B, I had great groups with 340s until my groups suddenly went south. I ended up changing to 300and a drop away, it turns out the whiskers had just gotten weak and evidently were collapsing during the shot. But now I really like the 300s, even though I went back to the WB. Very easy to BH tune for me.

Just as a suggestion, buy a couple 340s and see how they shoot before investing in a whole dozen. 300s are a bit harder to find but they do weigh about the same as 340s.

Bruce L. helped walk me through all this last year.
