What do you do when the weather drops below freezing? I've searched and I found a few different articles that talk about cold weather hunting but nothing that really pin points minus degrees weather. It's supposed to be 7 degrees here tomorrow morning with a wind chill of -10 to -12 degrees.

Make sure to bring (2) disposable hand warmers and open them up about an hour b4 u get to your tree stand. They're reusable too. Seal in a ziplok sandwich bag after use to keep air out. Usually can use 2 or 3 times before disposal.

Also, if it's a long walk to tree stand, wear light clothes to the stand and change to layered hunting clothes before climbing into tree stand. Bag the clothes that are soaked in perspiration to keep the human scent to a minimum. You should also change your socks if they are wet from the initial walk to the stand because once they're soaked, your feet will get COLD quickly if you don't replace them.

I would suggest purchasing a Heater Body Suit. I sat all day (9hrs) in -9 degree weather and was warm. The only problem was the wind was so cold a tiny bit came thru the zipper.

I'm going out tomorrow and I've hunted cold weather but never this cold. I've got some things to block out the cold and I follow what carplanenut said somewhat. lol I have looked into those heater body suits, they look like they are worth the money. I don't think it'll get here by 5 a.m. on Monday though. lol

I just go... of course we only get to the teens occasionally... but I still go. I just tough it out and try to keep my hands and ears covered.

Seriously If u live where it's cold and stays cold or has possibility a to get that cold every hunter needs a good set of warm clothing or something. May only use It 1 time a year by it pays for itself each time. I have cabelas windsheer predator fleece and a warm bag so plenty of options counting in the merino wool base layers

Thanks for the responses so far.
Like MM said, it normally doesn't get this cold in my area. It gets cold but teens is the lowest and I can deal with it.
The weather tomorrow is not something we plan for, I have carhartt bibs and jackets for cold weather but they don't get used because it doesn't get that cold. If I ever thought it would get this cold during deer season, I would have bought something just for this.
