I'm taking the girlfriend up to the camp this week and leaving the bow behind. Trying to get her on her 1st deer. We leave tomorrow. After that I'm back to the bow . Finally got some really good deer on camera. I'm excited to start chasing them
You know it’s thanksgiving when you hear turkeys chirpn while standing on your front porch first thing in the morning. Happy Thanksgiving y’all Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well guys, the buck I shot back on November 6th was found last week. The guy that found it and the game warden worked together and was able to track me down. I am in disbelief and beyond excited. I'm going to drive back up there on Friday to get the rack. I will post pictures once I have it in hand. The guy that found the deer is a true sportsman. He had every right to keep the deer but put forth a lot of effort to track me down. The deer ended up being gut shot. My theory of the arrow passing through the hind quarter which cleaned the guts and coated the arrow in blood was accurate. Glad to have closure. Glad to get the antlers back. Glad the guy that found it is a great person.
I wish I could have made a better shot and been able to score this deer for the team but this story is truly amazing. https://louisianabowhunter.com/hunters-helping-hunters-a-giant-buck-comes-home/
That is awesome. I’m glad you got some closure on it. That is great that he was able to find you Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well it's been a long season for my self. This will probably be my last weekend out for the year. I'm hoping to get it done with at least a doe. We are currently getting our first snow today, and temps all week will be in the 20's. going to be sitting over a cut corn field where i had decent activity during Gun season. Heading out Friday after work.
Went out yesterday trying to ride the storm front coming in, pretty cold. Had 19 doe sightings and a 4 pt in the a.m. Saw nothing in a different spot in the evening. Last Sunday ended gun season and I don’t participate in that but I think it pushed my shooter into being nocturnal again based on trail cam photos Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Man what a story! Stud of a buck. Obviously it didn’t go as planned but every situation like that makes us all better hunters. If there is a lesson learned it is a successful hunt Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Last day of the NY deer season. I hunted a lot this year but had horrible luck the whole time. It was fun but being empty handed is not ideal. Looking forward to next year. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Finally managed to put my doe buck on the scorecard. Definitely wasn't my best season but glad I got my antlered doe back from the taxidermist and on to my wall!
