    Really find it amusing.
A buddy of mine decided to try bowhunting this year.
He came home with a bottle of ( scent- killer gold). I asked him why he bought it. Said the salesman at the store recommended it.
So he takes a shower, puts on his work bibs and jacket and sprays half the bottle .
Needless to say, he had deer blowing 400 yards away.

Scent control is 100% with me or I'd rather stay home.
I've had over 100 deer pass downwind this year and only a couple old does new ( sommeting) was not quite right.
    No snorting or stomping though.
When bucks are tending does, it SO very important for does to pass by without a change in her body language because the bucks will usually be trailing her 10-20 yards behind.
Scent control: 100% or don't bother trying.

Ive been 20 feet high using the terrain/wind and had does all year downwind...with my scent blowing right over top of them. And never knew I was there.

If you hunt flat ground and have a limited place to hunt, I guess you go overboard with the scent control. I don't have that dilemma.

Dang bro, that's awesome!! That's a lot of deer passing down wind, makes me wonder how many passed up wind as well. And with all those 100's and 100's of deer passing by your stand so far this year, I bet you've killed a boat load, or at least could have...but kills or no kills...BIG CONGRATS on all those successful sets!!!

Virginia, I hunt flatland and most of the stands are about 12' so thermals don't really apply here.

Gri22ly, is that your inferiority complex coming out?

Hard to fill a truckload with only 2 tags but yeah, I've passed over 100 easy shots this year including 35 bucks, some have been dandies.
Been trying to get a 155 4 x4. Been close but...
Perhaps you can give me some advice?

A 155 4x4 is even tough here in the Midwest. That's one heckuva deer.

I've had similar results from hunting at least 20ft up on fairly level ground. Height is key with the spooky deer I hunt. If I hunt lower than 20ft I feel like I'm sitting in Macy's front window!

You started the thread out "Really find it amusing"...not sure if you think it's funny that your friend tried the scent gimmick scheme? That a salesman tried to get him too? Or that your friend had deer blowing at him from 400 yards away? Which....

Is a long ways, did you step that distance off afterwards or did your "friend"? Just blowing at him from down wind would have been sufficient, but "from 400 yards away" adds some serious credibility to your tell...I'm digging it man.

    Perhaps....

Are you actually asking for help, or is that your inferiority complex coming out?

The jest of this thread was about buying spray and thinking it would mask all odors.
Didn't think it would take a rocket scientist too figger it out?
Hooked on phonics should be on your Christmas list.
Well, I best shower up. Got a good wind and clean clothes.

It's all in good fun...this place needs a little spicing up...Good luck today... :)

I had zero deer pass down wind of me this year...I take that back, could have had deer a quarter mile away down wind, like your friend, without me knowing, but none blew...I take that back, could have had deer blowing from a quarter mile away and just didn't here them, lol.
