I'd be afraid of the deer smelling it. Or me falling out of my stand, but honestly it has always sounded so tempting. Beer and deer...best of both worlds....

I love beer and love hunting...but I would never drink while i'm hunting.

I take my hunting a little too seriously for nonsense like that.

Not while hunting. Not until after my practice. But to each his own....

I consider my bow just as dangerous as a rifle, and I'd never shoot my rifle after drinking.

My parents have a neighbor that told me he did this. It was the first I'd heard of it, until now.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a cold beverage or 9 just as much as the next guy. But drinking while hunting is something I'd never do. Not because I don't think I'd be safe - but because it just doesn't jive with me, or what I'm all about. Afterwards at the cabin for sure....but never while hunting.

I prefer a pint of Jack, jamison, captain or yager, easier to conceal and dont have to worry about all the emptys laying around! Wouldnt hit the woods without it! :tu:

Afterwards, for sure, never done it during a hunt though. Does being legaly drunk in the morning count? Lord knows I've done THAT on several occasions.

Georgia law actually states under Unlawful Activities - "Hunting while under the influence of drugs or alcohol."

Honestly, that's a great idea! I've taken a few with me over the years, and it’s became quite routine to have a couple in the stand. I'm not out there to get slap your grandmother happy or even a buzz, but nothing is more relaxing then a cold one in your favorite tree. If you see a fellow sitting in a tree with a Natty light in his hand all the while pissing off the stand, you bet your ass he's just like me. I’d brought beer with me every time I went to hang a stand or check trail cameras. It must be somehow related to "not being around the wife", or just doing manly things that makes the beer taste so darn good.

It's just like golf, some say that they never drink while they golf and that's fine. Meanwhile, I'll over here having a better time. Lol

    Save one for me.

I should mention that i hunt from the ground or in a ground blind 95% of the time so i always make sure to have a cooler in my pack for long afternoon sits. In fact i had to put a beer down to shoot the biggest buck of my life last year. I did not mean for this to upset fellow hunters. I am just curious if anyone else is like me when bowhunting?

Under the influence in VA means over the legal limit of .08. You can drink a couple of beers with dinner and drive and you're good, throw a couple of shots in the mix though and you're playing with fire. For a male weighing 200 lbs you would have to drink 4-5 regular drinks(1 domestic beer, 1 shot, or 1 glass of wine) in one hour to be in the .07-.09 range. Another stat. is if you drank 2 drinks the first hour and then 1 evry hour after that your bac would barely get above .05. I guess my point is people don't get drunk or dui's for drinking in moderation.

It really all depends on the individual, a couple of beers isn't getting you drunk it will however make you piss more.

Hell yeah I tip a few back while huntin! Me and da boys likes to git ourselves a case of Budweiser. We don't drink the wussy beers. Sumtimes I cants tell which is the real deer when I's seeing double. It make huntin more fun.

After da hunt, da boys and I hop in da truck and do some muddin'! Roscoe just got a new lift kit. That summab!tch never gets stuck!
