So after years of trying I finally convinced my wife to let me get a hunting dog. I got buddy the beagle a week ago today and already shot limits of grouse behind him. He was an awesome awesome dog. Well wednesday morning, I open the door and realize someone has cut the lock on his kennel and taken buddy. He was an inside/outside dog. He enjoyed playing inside, but hated sleeping there. He was way more comfortable in his kennel. Iv been posting flyers all over, offering a reward of money that I dont even have. Iv hiked a total of 24 miles on the ground all over the corn and timber in the area and nothing. I know he probably isnt around and that someone made out with my new hunting buddy, but I cant stop looking. Im devistated. Police came and basically did NOTHING. It was raining so they couldnt get prints and basically said they will keep an eye out for him.

Also, in all the flyers and postings I have made, I never mentioned he was stolen. Im hoping whoever took him will bring him back for the reward. I will ask no questions, I jsut want my dog back.

This just put a huge damper on my day... How could someone steal someones best friend?

Some sick people in this world and I pray that you find your dog or someone brings him home.

Oh how terrible! I could never even begin to imagine. People are cruel. I hope you get him back - healthly and quickly. I'm sorry.

Yep, I couldnt believe it. My heart sank when I realized the lock was actually cut. I waited years to get a hunting dog and bonded with this dog in the very short time I had him. He was such a sweet dog, yet worked him butt off for me when I took him out to the timber.

The hard part to swallow also is that I live in the middle of no where. He was not visable from the road, so it has to be someone that knew but who knows.

If someone went after my dog or hurt it there would be hell to pay.

Is he micro chipped? Contact all of the beagle rescue organizations. I am a member of a rescue organization and you would be suprised how closely watched dogs are.

If you find out who did it beat him right in the street in front of everyone.

He is chipped, but is still in the name of the breeder. He is on alert for a phone call as well in case he is picked up by animal control. The breeder (an old friend of mine) even brought 4 of his best hounds to my house (over an hour away) just to get his dogs on some rabbits thinking maybe buddy would come when he heard the other dogs baying. No luck. Its been raining, cold and windy here the last few nights and im really worried about him

Honestly, at this point I would pay the damned thief the reward if he would just bring my dog back. I would bite my tongue, wouldnt call the cops, and would just let him go on his way. I want buddy back that bad. I dont care if he came back and never hunted again. He is already a part of my family

It sounds like it's someone who knows you or someone who knows the guy who sold you the dog
