Thanks guys, I'm glad to see so many of you still hanging around this forum. I just got out of the habit of hanging around forums. I happened across a video of Justin on some show the other day and it reminded me of this forum so thought I'd check in on the place.

Yeah Sota I like the reds, everyone else around has black angus, I had to be different like usual.

Covey do you raise from calves or do feeders? Ever butcher and keep? My daughter and son in law did breeders then moved into feeders. They will take a cow and grind the whole thing, best hamberger you can get. We also have endless cuts, roast, steaks, filet. Blessed I buy zero meat at the grocery store other than ground turkey for the wife and meat sticks for breakfast from the local grocery. Local eggs are still $3 a dozen. Love living in the country, where nothing ever happens.

Our neighbors sell their beef cuts straight out of their barn. I’ve been lucky enough to get some 2 inch T-bones and Tomahawk steaks before the locals buy them out. Nothing comes close to tasting so good as a marbled T- bone straight from the butcher. Hamburgers too.

SIL is cousins with everyone in the 4 sections around them they trade beef for chicken and pork, love farm meat, I am spoiled. Kinda funny city folk find it fashionable for farm to table, has been going on for as long as there has been small farms.
