Many of the older members here remember when i was a regular poster. I loved this website, followed the guys over from the HNI and got really involved. Attended the first 2 GTGs and one after, met a lot of people who I still keep up with, it was a great place to learn since I don’t come from a “bowhunting” family.

Anyways, long story short I got too busy to post a lot, life kinda catches up with you, house, fiancé, career...ect. I still lurk, participate in the contest and stuff but don’t spend an hour or two here like I used too daily. I started my own webshow and interact with people on other social media outlets now.

Anyways, lots of those older posters probably remember my 3 year quest for “Freak Daddy” and the following 4 year quest for “Hook”. I would pick out the dominant buck in my area and hunt only them, both didn’t work out so well.

Over the last few years I changed my routine up and started managing my family farm for mature bucks. I really wanted to have my first mature buck kill on film with my bow, i wouldn’t settle for anything less.

On November 1st it finally happened. I killed a buck I called “Traveller” on film solo. It was the highlight of my hunting career and the monkey was finally off my back. If only Quicksilver still posted here to see this as he was always a great ball busting inspiration.

All my close friends and family got to partake in the recovery and it was truly a once in a lifetime moment.

For good measure I was also able to double up on the mature bucks and harvest the first 10 point at my annual West Virginia deer camp since it was founded 29 years ago. 2019 was TRULY my year. For all the people who helped me out or at least pointed out my wrongdoings over the years, i honestly appreciate it!

I’d also love to point out that both these deer are bigger than Zarr’s, and that the Bears suck, Go Pack Go!!!

Your Ohio buck "may" squeeze my IL buck out in the score department - depending on whether you actually know how to score a deer. But I'm pretty sure your WV deer would fit in my buck's chest cavity.

Congrats again, man! Been following along on your journey for a long time and it's great to see it all come together.

It is never too late to start a career. How marvelous your pics are! I can even feel the excitement when you hunt the huge deer!!! Bravo! I really want to know what equipment you use to observe the deers and other animals at night. I use IRay Xsight SL50 to search my targets at night. It is very clear, so I can find the targets quickly. But it is not very convenient enough due to its size. Do you have other convenient and portable equipment for advice?
