Long story short, I had a monster patterned. He showed as recently as Friday night with his usuall bachelor group: 1 freak, 2 shooters and a dink. Last night and tonight. . . nothing . . . and I stayed well past dark to see if maybe they just might be late. Wind was perfect, everything seemed perfect. Still, no deer. So finally a half hour after pitch dark, I'm on the ground . . . just in time to make out a figure coming down my trail. It's a frickin tresspasser! and the dude is coming from their bedding area I wont get into our lil' exchange , but that should be the last I see of him. Now the question is, if he/they relocate to a different bedding area, how far will they usually go?
Depending on how many times the jack ass trespasser has been In there I would think your big boy will be back In there In his usual bedding area as time goes on (couple days or so). It might not be a bad idea If you yourself would stay out of there a few days so stuff and scent can settle down being the trespasser screwed stuff up.
Well i had been seeing the same two big 9s the first week and second week of bow season here and the last few days I have yet to see them. I think they are out of their groups and changing their patterns. Im not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. I have been seeing a few does and one huge boddied 3 pointer. This little racked monster must be pushing 200 lbs or better. I contiplated on plugging him lastnight just for the meat, but its early in the season and Im sure one of the 3 big bucks I have been seeing will show up again soon once they start getting territorial in the next few weeks. Hard to beleive its almost October already.
That sucks Josh! I really can't answer your question, but I feel for you. I would think they would be back in there in a few days, but with people getting out in the woods now that season is open Once the old boys smell human they can go nocternal real fast. I truly hope that is not the case for this old boy and you relieve him of his heartbeat.
be glad this guy did'nt go postal on you. that sux that u can't trust anyone. kinda makes you wanna break a leg or thumb. those deer might just by coincidence be changing their patterns, but stay out for a week & see what happens. It depends on what that bonehead did walk around there. hopefully none of those deer were home when he was there.
