Ok first off dont think I'm nuts and I am only asking this on behalf of my father n law.
Does anyone know of a scent that can be put on a tree to attract a beaver to
cut the said tree down? Their is a green way thats separates the home from the lake and
he can't cut any trees. He has a beaver working the lake and would also like the beaver
to do the work for him on these trees.

    Thanks,
    T

I think you're nuts. Even before this question. :)

I don't think you can use a scent to get beavers to cut particular trees. Like most ornery wild animals, they'll go after the ones you don't want cut. He could put fencing around the trees he wants and hopes the beavers go after the others.

Or your FIL could use a really tiny hatchet that takes little beaver sized bites out of the tree and just blame the rodents.

T, to prove you are NOT crazy, just go get a beaver skull and every night under the cover of darkness, whittle the trees down. Then, everyone will think it was beavers......lol

PS if you need a beaver skull, I probably could come up with 3 or 4.

Or if you want to do it the easy way - http://www.bugspray.net/best/beaver-attracting-lure-scent.html

I guess there is something called poplar oil.

Yup, I agree... I was hoping for something a little more racey. That said... a cordless drill, the right chemicals and said tree is dead.... DEAD.
