Sorry guys, I don't know how to properly measure a buck, and I don't want to enter the wrong score.

Look on the boone and crocket website. Or look for youtube videos. Remember it is gross score not net, so you do not deduct anything.

Yes that^^ but also remember, when measuring the main beam, start right above the eye and the. Go along the outside of the main beam to the tip.

No, I def. won't give up! I just meant it may take me a bit to get it scored. Hopefully it scores a little better than I think it will.

You can do it! I'm guessing 86 inches for the gross!

I went hunting yesterday morning, was walking in about an hour before sunrise and jumped up a nice big body deer out of standing corn, got to my stand and hunted until about 845, I got down because I had to be to class and of course there was a nice doe walking about 100 yards and closing to my stand, I wasn't too upset until I saw my 8 point that I have been seeing all year (120-130 gross im guessing) working up a finger and heading towards my stand. I tried to bunker down behind a combine head but he could sense something was out of place and just decided to walk across a field instead of coming by me. I have his travel routes down now from seeing him on his feet and mapping him on google earth...I think he's using a small creek bed just off my property to get in and out of big woods. I'm going to a farmer tomorrow night to see if I can get in that creek bed the rest of the year. Hopefully I can get on him boys

Yea it's always hard to tell from photos. I bet he is in 80s somewhere at least. Get on him .09 outdoors! Good luck

We are a few doe kills and a buck or two away from being in command of this thing half way through November and that is pretty impressive. The leader at halfway always has a chance and we getting close to halfway.

    Way to go again Cledus!!

Not sure how it will relate to my hunting success or lack of the rest of this season but I just got permission to hunt an additional 50 acres in Clay County. Acres that we haven't touched all season and so the deer probably feeling pretty safe and comfortable. A gun hunter does hunt it (over the next 3 weeks) so I will have to deal with that but then he goes away.

Going to try and sneak into a stand after work this afternoon - pushing my luck but can't not hunt this week.

Going to sneak into the stand for an hour again this evening - worth a shot with cold temps and does being pushed around late last night, not much to lose with gun season coming in Saturday. Going to take a friend of mine out gun hunting although I am not going to gun hunt I am going to put him in one of my stands and let him gun hunt Saturday morning.

    Good luck this weekend guys!

Had an amazing hunt this morning, it was 5 degrees with a little bit of snow still on the ground. Saw 13 deer total 3 of them were 4yos. One of the 4yos that I have a lot of pics from last year and this year I passed 5 times from 8 yards to 45. They were running and chasing does all over the place it was awesome. I was just standing by a tree. Probably my best morning hunt ever!!! Too bad I didn't have my camcorder up it would have been awesome footage.
