This looks like a hen with a beard to me. Is it? Are they legal to shoot in spring since it has a beard?

In the state of Wisconsin, a bearded turkey is legal...personally, I would NOT shoot a hen with beard.

PS, she must of shaved, I don't see a beard.

You can see the beard at about 58 seconds. Can't see it in be beginning of the video.

I wouldn't shoot a hen in spring as I'd hold out for a gobbler, but have in the fall. If populations are high, no problem with shooting a few hens.

I saw a hen with at least a 7" beard yesterday. My buddy had one regularly in his hard last year.

I killed a bearded hen this year. Haven't measured it, but I'd say it was 7.5" long. Now that I have one, I won't shoot another. While she tasted great, the breast is at most 40% the size of a Tom.

It is only legal when your state regs say it is. In Kansas our regs say a visible beard is legal. Nothing about sex of the bird. Check your state regs.
