The only time I itch is when I actually use a razor... been years since that happened. I didn't even know there were beard "oils." I'll have to check that out.

I really enjoyed that part of the experience, mine itched a lot when I first let it grow and the oil really helped ease that. I was still using it pretty heavy right up until I shaved it.

You shaved it?!?!?!?! Somewhere in the last three pages that I skipped I assume. Will you venture back someday?

Regretfully, yes I shaved it off. I had an issue with my honey bees being a little too fascinated with it. I think it was probably just due to the beard oil that I had in it but I'll be handling about 25 hives of bees this summer/year and didn't want to have to worry about any complications agitating bees. I'll have 10 new boxes of bees to install in hives May 7th and they'll be jittery enough as it is without worrying about them being agitated by something odd.

I'll probably grow it back out in the not too distant future, I liked wearing it after it got going. I think probably if I just wash out any beard oil, it'll be fine around the bees. I had quite an event the other morning with bees in it and admit I mostly shaved it out of a post panic decision, lol. I can tell you it's not very enjoyable having a couple of bees vibrating around in inch long hair on your jaw.

Don't they make bee suits for that? Or is that hipster like?

Yeah I have a suit I wear when working with them but the morning I had the "problem" I was just throwing a pop can in the recycle bin. It was about 50F that morning and the bees were out looking hard for something to take back to the hive so the whole porch area where the bin sits was covered in bees. I keep some of my hives out by the garden 50 yards from the house so they are always around close by, most of the time they don't cause any concern...at least until I grew a beard and used beard oil, lol.
Besides, I don't always wear my bee suit when I'm working in the bees, those suits are hotter than hell. In the summer, I'd practically rather eat a few stings than to wear that hot somebeach.
