Bear pics from the Reconyx.... he is bigger than I thought

Goodluck Matt... there are some great bears up north. I hope you smoke one and get yourself a nice rug!!!

The area where this bear was photo'd isn't exactly what you would expect for a bear area... he is living between and Airport, a housing development, a maximum security prison, the county jail, and to the east is the major part of the farm. It is amazing that these critters can have such large ranges but barely ever be seen.

 

w/o looking at everyone else's estimates, I would call it a 175-200 lb sow.

 

Bears are pretty neat. I hope he hangs around long enough for you to take a shot at him during bear season. Would you hunt both the archery & gun seasons if you still have pix of him?

Thanks Ryan... if he is around I definetly will hunt both the archery and the gun season. I have a pretty good idea where he would be sleeping in these woods and he is pretty limited on where he could go.
