So while scouting out my deer hunting area I have been finding evidence of bears in the same area, next week bear archery season opens , will my same deer set ups also work with bear , these seem to be smaller black bears in 200 pound range, will my gamegetter arrows and muzzy phantoms work as well on bear as deer?

I would think so. Shot placement, as always, is the key.

Ya it's same set up. One thing to really help with bear hunting if its legal in your area is baiting. In Ontario our season opens sept 1. So I always go first weekend of August and take a large plastic barrel. Make numerous holes in it with a brill bit. Then fill with dog food and oats. Chain it to a tree. Bears will eat for hours and days there and keep a camera to see what's coming. Ill replenish it weekend before opening day. Then opening day were all over the bears. For meat those 200lb bears your talking about are the best ones. We target those.

baiting here is a major no no but there is no shortage of game either , its an archery only area and appears to be seldom hunted , never seen any hunters here ever and been hiking it for years

Your whitetail set up will be just fine. I never have changed a thing from whitetails to bear.
