My wife has one. She has not shot a deer with it yet but she shoots it well and is very accurate. The arrow speed and penetration on my target are better than I expected especially since we do not have her bow turned up to max poundage. She can not pull it at max poundage and I am worried that she will have trouble with penetration on a deer even though we use cut on contact fixed blade broadheads. She will not shoot at a deer past 20 yards because of this. If she could pull it at max poundage, there is no doubt that it would be powerful enough for deer out to at least 30 yards.
I just ordered a used Apprentice 2 for my 11 year old daughter. I'll give a review once it arrives, I get it set up and she shoots it.
+1 BearArcher. My 9 yr old shoots one. Nice bow. He simply doesn't pull enough weight yet. But if he could, it'll certainly do the trick. Small bow, pretty light. It fits him well.
My son bought one for my daughter she just got it last week and it looks to be a great bow. Of course she is building a set of strings for it. Their colors according to her is yuck! Hutch
I just picked up one for my neighbor's son. I shot it a bit last night, not sighted in and my arrows, but it felt very nice. Looks like a good quality bow.
