Bear and Cub coming into whitetail mineral/bait

Discussion in 'Big Game Hunting' started by Evan Nimalovitch, Jun 16, 2018.

  1. I have recently had a sow and cub show up to my bait/mineral site for whitetail..
I am not really excited about this, as I assume they will detour whitetail a bit, but more importantly, make me more nervous walking back to my truck in the dark..

IS there anything a guy can really do.. what does everyone else do in situations like this, do you simply carry bear spray when hunting, I know I can not shoot the bear until the cub is an adult, which will be next year or the year after..

should I even be that worried?

Just don't wear a bacon necklace and you will be fine.

I have bears all over my place. Never had an issue, I carry a pistol in case. They usually just run away. Worst case is a warning shot but that’s rare and only if I need to walk directly where it is.

Apart from this guy who just sat there watching me last month. Seemed happy and content lol 249589B0-FCA6-4DFB-B772-96FA76B0CAF7.jpeg
