How good of a food source are beans after they are harvested? Is there enough leftover that they still will graze? They are hitting this field hard right now and I have them patterned but the farmer says he will be harvesting in the next week. What will the effects be after the harvest?

Won't have much in my experience. When my farmer harvests, he leaves about as much as he takes. The deer are in that field well past the season.

There is usually still plenty of beans left to attract deer. I have killed many deer over picked bean fields. Some as late as January. Good luck!

Depends If he plows It up right away. Also depends on what kind of plow he uses.

My beans turned brown and the deer moved over to acorns here like turning on a light switch, after the acorns are gone the deer will be back.
my real problem is 300 ac of standing corn, cant even drive around it the farmer put it fence to fence this year.

I have had luck over cut bean fields once the deer get off the acorns.

There are no woods in the vicinity. These deer are bedding in the corn and then moving into the bean field almost every night. My plan is to sneak in there when the wind is right (hopefully Sunday night) and sit in some brush and kill one from the ground. We will see.
