I have never seen such a poor play selection in the red zone or a more stupid decision to go for it in his own half of the field on 4th and a bunch. Michigan hadn't been able to do squat... and he doesn't punt. He was in the red zone..... well hell inside the ten on more than one occasion and EVERY time.... he ran the same slow developing East/West running play that netted minus yards. One time on first and goal from the 4 yard line it netted MINUS 30. Duh... runner, fall down fool. They don't deserve to win. Unbelievable. Go BLUE. P.S. And what fool gave the VATech QB the green light to run whenever he felt like it. HE isn't that good, fast or anything.
What did you think of Danny Coales overturned touchdown pass? I definitely call BS on that one. You're right though, Beamer made some terrible play calling. Pitiful! Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
What a horrible game. VT deserved to lose with that horrid play calling. Michigan has slow midgets for DBs, and VT never would throw the ball downfield. Just run, run, then the same little ineffective screen pass. And that TD should not have been overturned. Yes, the ball hit the ground, but it did not move. There was not enough "irrefutable video evidence" to overturn the call on the field. And what about the illegal motion on the winning FG by the kicker? Or blatant hold by him on that luck fake FG. VT did not deserve to win the game, but Michigan won by sheer luck. Denard just seems to throw balls up in the air and somehow, 2 of them were caught for TDs.
You just described his career passing game in one sentence. Congrats to you sir. Michigan should be good next year, however I cannot see more success than they had this season for next year. I believe they can make a BCS game, but no natty game for sure. Denard is ineffective against good defenses. Anyhow, it was a good game to watch... Although it was extremely sloppy for a BCS game. The play in that game, you expect to see in a Kraft fight hunger game, not a big time BCS game.
I think Michigan will be less successful the next two seasons, but after that, they could be good again. They were a decent team this year that will lose some important pieces. I don't think anyone had them winning 11 games, including a BCS win, and improve that dramatically on defense. Heck of a season considering what Rod did to the program. Denard chucking it up to Hemingway is by far his most effective pass play of the season. Can't say how many times that worked out, but it was successful more often than it failed. Hemingway can go get the ball as good as anyone in the country. Denard will definitely miss him next year. He is not a good passer It was not a pretty win, but they made plays when they had to. VT did not. There was terrible coaching on both sides. Michigan definitely overachieved this year.
All I kept thinking the entire game was how badly LSU would destroy Michigan. Like the game would need to be stopped. Denard would get killed. I'm quite certain LSU's DEs are faster than the Michigan WRs.
With the primary kicker facing a prison sentence for armed robbery and the back-up kicker being sent home for failing to make curfew by 4 hours isn't it any reason he didn't let his third string kicker warm the bench? I'm no arm chair QB and I'm not holding a shield for the man, but the team was missing key pieces to keep it going. Hell I was expecting a Michigan Slaughter of Tech..... Actually Michigan win was in failure.
I don't disagree with any of that, but I guess I don't see the point? Michigan overachieved in the first year after someone destroyed their program. I'm okay with that.
Beamer's teams are notoriously bad in big games, we shouldn't expect anything but poor coaching from him come BCS Time. Michigan...they're horrible
The ACC as a whole is awful in BCS games (2-12)...almost seems like kind of a waste to even allow teams from that conference to get an automatic BCS bid? Depite the Big Ten's struggles in football in recent years...the conference is still around .500 in BCS games.
Ok now that some have spoke who's teams are irrlevant or loaded with criminals, lets hear from someone with football wisdom. Thank you Mr. Beamer, LOL As for the TD call, Michigan had they exact same call againt Iowa, it was ruled not a catch. Michigan had some bad calls go against them and no calls also. Michigan did not quit and everyone saw how good David Molk our center was this year, he was hurt most of the game. He should have not been out there. He looked to be about 60% speed. On defense MI is playing 6 freshman, Countess who got picked on and beat all night will be better next year. Offense MI does not have anyone with vertical speed to stretch the defense, nor a QB who can throw the deep ball. All in all 11-2 and a BCS win with the talent on that team is true coaching, something Les Miles COULD NEVER do.
You were on a roll right up until the last sentence.... and then you went totally brain dead. LOL You must be old and getting senial.
Les Miles could not coached that team to 11-2 View attachment 13238 At this point his elbow(Left) is on the ground and the nose of the ball is touching or just about to touch the ground. By rule that is not a catch. To best desribe the no catch I read this quote No catch, but a hell of a Catch
