Yes, easily. One thing I do in the off-season is crank my bow up in poundage and shoot it. Then, about this time of year, I turn it down to around 63lbs and tweak the sights a bit. This conditions my muscles all year for the the high poundage and makes the lower poundage seem very easy to pull. I also practice shooting from a seated position.
My only reason is I'm really lazy and have no desire to stand. I practice seated because I don't want to stand and have my target on a pulley system to pull back to me so I don't have to get up. I'd really like to find a tree I can fit a recliner in then I would practice reclined too
Sure can - I've shot 1/2 dozen or so deer while sitting down. I'm just too lazy to stand up sometimes. :D
This is one of those questions that I'm surprised was even asked. I would assume the answer would be 100% yes, whether you hunted from a seated position or not.
x2 I try to shake it up every time I shoot with angles, positions and distances. Last evening I shot out my daughter's 2nd floor window standing and seated at 15-40 yds with BHs. Of course, my dtr (7) and son (4) had to shoot their bows out the window just NOT with BHs!!
Sometimes yes and sometimes no. I can draw my bow very slowly without straining, but I can't seem to consistently anticipate the jump out of the valley. When I get it right, then yes, I can let it down slowly. When it surprises me I'm thankful that I have a full containment rest. Yeah, I can draw my bow sitting down, but I've only done it in a hunting situation once. With that one exception, I ALWAYS stand up as soon as I know a deer is coming so all of my shots are from a standing position.
You would be surprised. My next-door neighbor, who only practices with his bow maybe once a year, only shoot standing with his target at 20 yds. There r people out there who never practice anything but standing!
No doubt you definitely should be able to for those times where something comes up on you very suddenly
I don't think it'll help, Bruce. I've shot 55 pound bows that felt like I was drawing a toy, but the jump still surprised me. Granted, it's a lot easier to catch, but I never seem prepared for it. It might be that I just need to practice letting down. Letting down is something that I never practice and almost never do. That's probably the problem right there.
I can't remember ...lol ... but my Drenalin was set at 73 pounds and it was no problem letting it down.... not sure what my Guardian is set to .... Bruce, you helped me set that up ... do you remember?
Oh, that's right! It's a Bowtech, and you're the one who said my new Insanity was ugly when I got it.
