I had a chance to go do some hunting on my own tonight(son was at religion class) and decided to set up on the field we had seen the good buck a few days ago.I told myself I wasn't shooting anything but a decent buck tonight but you know how it goes when they just keep giving you oportunities.

I had already let one pass in the exact same spot and shot angle. This one did not get so lucky.I ranged her at 38 yards and she took 1 step before I got the shot off.I did hit a touch high, about 2" from where the shot broke and I spined her.Not sure if it was the 2 yards,or her dropping at the shot or if I just missed a couple inches but regardless, she went down.

Strange thing was it was about an hour before dark so I decided to hunt untill 15 minutes before dark and ended up having to run deer out of the field. When I started out to her,the coyotes had already smelled her(second shot to finish her caught guts on the way to the lungs, not on video) and had started creeping up through the weeds to her.I had to run them off as well.

In my pic you can see how sweaty I was.I hurried back to the 4 wheeler to get her out before the yotes got back and did a quick field dress,so I am pretty much beat in the pic.

    Short video of the kill.
I wish I had zoomed in before the shot but I am new to the video stuff.

Cool vid...being zoomed out makes you look like an expert marksman! :D How far was the shot?

Pretty crazy about the coyotes creeping up that fast!

I would have had I known they were there.I heard them a little after I shot but they had some distance between them and me,they covered it quick.

Trevor, the shot was long.It was right at 40 yards.I believe 39 when the shot went off.

Thanks for the link. I need to get a decent camcorder first but I've been keeping my eyes peeled for decently built and priced arms as well. Did you paint it or leave it the original color?

It is the original color and I just drape a camo face mask over the camera.

    Congratulations Todd!!

That was a heckuva shot; to hit one about the size of an ant is pretty darn impressive!

    ;)
