Long shot... I know... Auburn 31- FSU 30. Auburn has got to get some defensive stops early, and then score on some long controlled drives. They have got to find a way to disrupt the big FSU receiver's timing and force Winston to beat them with his legs. A few good sacks to rush his throwing will help but it has to be an in your face all night attack. When his timing is off in the games I have watched, his accuracy suffers. If he gets time to throw, it will be a long night for Auburn. I like Auburn's chances but they will need to be nearly perfect. Penalties, turnovers and special team play will likely decide a close outcome.
This is the exact score I was going to predict... but I'll settle with 42-28 to be extremely original. Auburn has been a team of destiny... but FSU has annihilated every team they have played thus far.
I'm going with FSU 34-20. Muzzy, a few weeks ago you said in a post that half the teams in the SEC are better than FSU? But, now you are saying the SEC champ will need to play a perfect game to beat FSU?
In his defense, the SEC champ wasn't the best SEC team. Same with the BIG and PAC for that matter though.
Auburn needs to sacrifice 2-3 defensive players like the days of old. Seek and destroy Winston physically, even risking being booted from the game.
If played a fews ago when Auburn was rolling, I think they would have won... After this layoff, who knows.
I don't recall naming the best team... But I guess I will. I'm of the opinion that Alabama, Mizzou, and possibly even LSU are all a better team than Auburn (7 game series these teams all defeat Auburn IMO)... But with the structure of a single elimination season like CFB, anything can happen. I also think OSU is better than Mich St, the Ducks are better than Stanford, and Ok St and OU are better tan Baylor. But none of those opinions matter either really. Just opinions.
Back to what was the original point... Do you think all those teams (plus Georgia according to Muzzy) are better than FSU?
Nope. I think only a few teams can compete with FSU this year, Auburn not being one of them. Hope I am proven wrong as I have been on a few other teams so far.
I think Auburn could win as they did find a way to beat Bama but I don't think they will. FSU's defense is just so much better than Auburn's. I just hope it's a good game.
