Thats crazy. How did he find your deer in the dark just by happenstance? And why would anyone drag another person's deer out of the woods? If I found someone else's deer and had no way of knowing whose it was, I would just leave it. I may check back later for the skull in case it was never recovered, not as a trophy obviously but I always keep any antlers I come across in the woods.
