Ive tried searching on google for this but keep finding conflicting answers.

I just got some new Li-ion camera batteries in, do i need to completely drain (they came in the mail with approx. 60% charge) the batteries BEFORE charging them or can i put them on the charger before use?

I have found an even number of Yes's and No's for this, so i come to yall for the tie breaker. thanks for the help!

I've always ran them down and then charged them only when they were completely dead or less than 5%. I've never had any problems so I haven't changed.

From my understand Li-ion batteries retain no memory unlike the old Ni-cad batteries. I've been able to charge when I had a chance at not worry about it draining down.

Heard back from Wasabi Power today, as i touched base with them for an answer to the same question, they replied to drain them all the way down, then start a full charge.
