I've read posts where some of you get 6+ weeks out of a set of batteries in a camera. How do you do this? What kind of camera are you using?

I have bought all brands of batteries (Energizer, Dollar Store, Duracell) - but nothing is lasting longer than two weeks for us. We have Moultrie, Wildgame Innovations, and Bushnell cameras.

I thought maybe the batteries get moist, or the drastic weather changes we have (hot/cold), but I really don't know. I've gone to just buying Dollar General brand batteries because they're lasting just as long and so much cheaper.

The cameras are set on continous (1 MIN Delay). My one camera usually gets 100+ cameras in a week. But the others get very few.

    Any ideas?

I normally only have to change batteries once a or twice a season and normally always energizer. I have a WGI and a Moultrie also. I don't know what to tell you. Seems odd.

That's odd... My covert can take at least 3,000 6mp pictures and still have battery life left in it. My Wildgame Innovations is about the same way - And I use the cheapest batteries I can find usually.

    How old are the cameras?

My Moultrie 880-C has been out since late March and shows 99% still. Some of my older models I change 4 times a year.

I have a stealthcam that will suck batteries dry in a matter of days, even when turned off.
My covert camera batteries last for months and months.

If your only getting two weeks, I'm thinking the issue is with your cameras and not the batteries.

My first advice is, call the camera companies and see if they have any recommendations.

My second advice is, buy some covert trail cams. :)

We get anywhere from 5,000 to 6,000 pics on a set of Duracell's with our Coverts. Maybe try a set of rechargeables.

I change bats once a year and spend the extra money for the lithium..

Makes a huge difference in my Bushnell
I am getting 40,000 pics or more out of a set in all kinds of weather.

I'd say you got some bad camers

Pretty much the same here for me. My M-880's last the season just fine.

The Moultrie is brand new (three weeks ago) along with one Wildgame camera.

The others are any where from 1-4 years old. We have over a dozen cameras and the luck is the same with them all.

I will be going with Coverts on our next purchase. I like what I have seen - picture wise - here.

If I could get away with once (or twice) a year battery replacement - I wouldn't mind spending for lithium batteries.

Well dang. I cannot imagine all of my cameras were malfunctioning. But something has to be! I'm going out tonight after work to reset everything, hoping to have a little bit more luck!

Lithium batteries are well worth the extra money.

    These are C Batteries.

I have to WGI that take AA which seems to last a bit longer, but that thing has a mind of its own.

I have two WGI cameras and the one has the batteries in it from last year still. I think it is about 1/2 way through those. The other one I have is still running on a full charge from the batteries i put in it in April when i hung it. These are also running on AA Lithium

Are you doing videos or photos? Videos will really drain a set of batteries.

Maybe look into trying some c to aa adapters. Seen them on e bay and other places.

All the c battery cameras I ever had (stealth/moultries) were never great on batteries, but could go a few summer months.

I get about 6 months out of my Moultrie m-45 on 4 D batteries and their taking 800-2500 pic a month.

I just got the Moultrie M-80 camera take takes 8-AA and I'm using the Lithium batteries in those. I'm hopping to get a year out of them on deer trails.

KY Bob - everything is just stills. No videos.

I'll look and see about C battery converters.

Ya'll make me jealous! I'll go poor trying to get pictures of deer, lol.
