I did but I enjoy the tourney fishing much more. With tournament archery to be competitive in open class on the state or regional level you need to be looking at targets several days a week. If you want to compete at the semi pro level or national level you better be shooting 1,000 arrows a week. That's a huge time committment and something I just can't do and balance with normal life. With tourney fishing you need a couple of days to prefish before the tourney and if you know what you're doing you can compete in some pretty large regional events. The other thing that turned me off of target archery was that the pencil is always sharper than the arrow. I got tired of getting pencil whipped by guys I know I could outshoot.
If someday I had the opportunity I would love to fish walleye tournaments. My cousin in Milwaukee, WI is on a bass team and fishes tournaments every weekend in the summer. I drool over the pigs he catches. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Is anyone playing Fantasy Fishing on Bassmaster.com? I am not doing very well with only 1160 points after day 1 hopefully I will have a better day tomorrow!
Ok it seems we have a lot of people interested in Bass fishing. I created a private Fantasy group if anyone is interested just for fun! Go to Bassmaster.com and create account. Group name is Bowhunting.com Password is: Whitetail Think it would be a fun one to do all season! Anyone else interested?

Congrats randy Howell. He showed up big when it counted. He had a 20+ lb limit in the first hour or so. Good guy, happy for him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very happy for Randy, it couldn't have happened for a nicer guy. I feel he's one of the best guys on the elite tour that just doesn't have a bunch of first place wins, he's so consistently in the top ten. I camped next to him and his family for a week in 2012 on Oneida in NY. The week before the 4th of July, he didn't make the cut in Green Bay so he and his family drove the whole way to NY to prefish Oneida for a week before the cutoff period. There were actually about a dozen pros that showed up that week to practice. I spent a ton of time talking with him that week and got to spend some time on the water with him as well. I can tell you the committment level he has is amazing, he works significantly harder than the other pros that were there that week. It was 95-100 degrees every day that week, and he was on the water from before sunup to sundown for literally 5 days straight in that heat just covering water and learning the lake.
Great guy won for sure! And so proud of my boy Ott! Ill tell you what though, has to hurt being Mueller. Being only 1 pound from winning the classic and he only had 9-10 on day 1. Amazing comeback story, but man thats gotta hurt!
Can't wait till next weekend to see it on tv. Don't think I did very well in fantasy though. Need you guys to sign up with me! Sent from my iPhone 5S using Tapatalk
I'll join the group today. I finished with 1280 points, which was in the 85% percentile. It helped having Jordan Lee (6th) and Doug Thompson (9th) in my last two groups.
