Bass Pro buying Cabela's Is this true?

    I've been thinking about this story (second link) for a couple days. There is something a bit fishy.

    Though BPS allegedly has hired an investment bank to explore a buyout/acquisition (mentioned on CNBC a week or two ago), the deal isn't done and approved yet. Until that happens these sorts of announcements just aren't made at this stage of an M&A.

    If that store is closing 1/1, I think it is that particular store is underperforming (maybe in part from a competitor) ...something a manager probably wouldn't say.

    Saw this a few days ago. If its true, it sucks because they were finally putting in a Cabelas that's closer then 1 1/2 hours away from me. Although bass pro is building even closer.

    If it's true I hope they keep the Cabelas clothing and gear. It's hands down better than the Redhead brand.
