Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I see no increase of hangups if trimmed right.

If eliminating hangups is important then length of cast and head design are going to help you most. Shorter casts (pitching) with completely vertical presentations are key as are heads that are tapered vs. a football or other bulky head designs.

I just put braided line on one of my rods for the first time, hopefully Tuesday evening I can get something hitting a frog so I can see how I like it. Fishing has been slow here cause everyday I have time to go we get hit with a thunderstorm.

Hit Kentucky up last week for some offshore ledge fishing and also my first trip to the lake. It just served as a reminder that I need to upgrade my electronics. The fish were transitioning out of the coves and onto a post spawn ledge pattern with each day. We fished the north end.

We grinded while we were there and put a few quality bites in the boat. Overall it was slow. The Elites will be there this week I believe for BASSFest, so they should be hitting the ledge bite perfect.

Been out a few times. Had the boat at the marina for some proactive trailer maintenance and just got it back two weeks ago so I got a late start this year.

Headed to the local mud puddle yesterday with Tommy in the pouring rain and 20+ mph winds. I didn't feel like getting beat up on a long run and there were pretty good wind rollers on the main lake so we found a bay that was pretty protected and stayed there for about 4 hours. I broke a finger last week so I'm pretty limited on how I can fish, ended up just staying shallow and jig fishing shallows. No big fish, but we had fun despite the rain and also caught a few dink largemouths and smallmouths. I also learned that Tommy is the most lethal Rock Bass fisherman I've ever known. :tu:

Now that the boat is back from the marina and most of my work on the leases is done, I should be able to get out a lot more over the next few months.

I was out for a bit on Saturday in the drizzling rain. Picked up a few small bass while fishing for gills. Gills were on the beds...

Went out dock fishing this weekend and ended up pitching jigs for Bowfins on shore, crazy looking fish!

I fished my 2nd kayak tourney in the last two weeks on Saturday. The first had 42 boats and I ended up with 3rd place overall. The second has 35 boats and got 3rd place again! I've been consistent but I'd really like to bring home first place! Only a few inches from first in both tourneys! These things are a blast. I'd recommend kayak fishing to anyone.

I have been doing pretty well the past week I'm Lake Geneva. Averaging 25 fish in about 2 1/2 hours fishing time. Here's my best for the year so far a 20 inch smallie.

Sorry, from my phone. Don't know how to rotate the pic.

Making a return to tournament fishing this weekend. Will be my 1st one in over 2 years, and on a new lake, so we'll see. I tried to fish one last weekend, but the flooded rivers here made for unsafe conditions and a TBD reschedule date.

Been getting out there when I can, just hasn't been often enough this year. With all the fronts rolling through north Mo. the fishing has been a little tough but we've caught a few decent fish.

I've been catching a few decent fish from the yak. My winning for this year in yak tournaments are over 500. That helped me buy my new boat last week.
