Midwest, I see you disagree with my assessment. Just curious what specifically you don't like. I have 2 orvis fly rods, 4 custom made fly rods in 3 wt x 1, a 6 wt and 5 wt x 2. In addition to these I have TFOs and others. I just love the action of this particular setup when fly fishing for largemouth bass. If someone is not a fly rod aficionado, I get that. It is a skill that takes a while to learn, but the payoff is tremendous.
I've just never used fly rods before, and I probably won't start, not my thing... I like using bait casters and spinning rods, more bait casters since it requires less of the "touch" and I like the aggressive hits that I get with bigger baits Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Kinda harsh to dislike a post for something you've never tried. Then again my Pa told me I would turn into a, how did he say it...oh, yeah, a "conceited arrogant a*****e" if I kept up that fly fishing thing. This is a video a friend took of a nice bass. I thought it aggressive, and it is nothing like a hit of a 2/0 deer hair mouse on the surface. Hold on to the 2:15 minute.
Well...did you? :D I think it's just that I don't believe it was the OP's intent to look for a fly setup. I do enjoy flyfishing, though. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4.
I may take excess pride in suggesting to others they are frequently ignorant of all the facts. (snort) Can't fault a guy for proselyting the faith of Fly Fishing though!
