Check out this crazy video. Seen fish eat a bunch of different things but never like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EehujHwR70w&feature=player_embedded
Very legit. I hooked a fish during a tournament in Louisiana and I don't know if the second fish was trying to get the crankbait or eat the other fish but I caught them both in the same position as those two. I went to weigh in with them still stuck together. I remember there was a bit of discussion whether to count them as one or two fish. The second fish was finally disqualified because it was considered caught on live bait. They weren't as large as the two in the video. I think both together were a shade under three pounds and the one I got to weigh was not much over a pound. And as usual I didn't place in the tournament. I have caught bass with another smaller bass, bream or crappie in its throat on numerous occasions.
I found a 20lb pike with an 8lb white fish lodged in its throat once. Both were dead though. This was back before digital cameras, so I cant bring up the picture to show, it was pretty incredible though. Was a guided fishing trip in northern Saskatchewan and at first I remember making fun of the size of the lures we were throwing. But when we found that I learned fast that the lures we were using was small if anything lol.
I definitely believe it. I found a walleye at our cabin dead - with a keeper sunny stuck in his mouth. Released the sunfish so he would tell his friends about the night he spent in the "belly of the beast" ...
It's pretty common around here to be catching sunnies and a 30 inch northern pike comes out if no one determined to eat that sunnie before you have a chance to. Pretty awesome to watch actually
