Anyone have any personal experience with First Lite base layers. UA and others seems to be expensive for what you get. Merino Wool seems to be a better performer then synthetics. Any thoughts?

UA is a little more expensive but Ive tried other knock off brands and nothing beats UA. The heat gear I have keeps me inbelievably cool (wore it ATVing in Vegas a few weeks ago and it was 115 and I felt fairly comortable). And then I got the cold gear as well long sleeve with the turtleneck and I've had it for 6 years since HS playing football and running for wrestling in the snow and Ive never been cold when wearing it

Love the Under Armor and completely recommend it; cold gear, heat gear, all of the above. Ive tried a few other knock off brands, along with different layering systems/brands, and always go back to Under Armor products.

Just an additional thought, if you decide on UA products, search for an under armor outlet. Prices are usually a little less costly.

I use Enduraskin sold by BPS and I have good success with it. I like UA as well. They work really well.

Stick with what you asked about in the post. Nothing beats Merino Wool. Period. First Light makes good stuff. If you have a Sportsmans Warehouse near they sell a brand called Red Ram. You can order it online too.Just as good and cheaper. Otherwise look at KUIU if you wan't to spend more. If you want to spend less check out core 4 Element on Camofire.com when it comes up for sale. It's free to subscribe and you will get text mssgs with stuff about 3 times a day. Wait until they have what you are looking for.
