    Except one.

Many of the forums I've been to give out temporary hiatus bans (as do most mods here). Multiple infractions show you're an idiot and/or feel you're above acting like a mature adult, and as such, I don't think it warrants you being let back. I actually feel this site is VERY liberal with what they allow so for those people to truly be banned, then they probably deserved it regardless of what conspiracy theories some might drum up.

Warning was given, suspension was given, retribution was given, then not a care was given. I think banning is the "death penalty" of the forum world, yes.

Why impose a ban if its temporary?

Seriously...why would someone even WANT to come back to a forum they had been banned from?

Having been banned a time or six.... I'm not sure what the answer is. I'm not going to test fate here. Probably that would be the way to go unless you really don't give a darn.

They lack social life and since they cannot let loose here, they let loose on their significant other and children. Then they find themselves in divorce court using the forum ban plea. Then, they slip further and send out unsolicited texts to random phone numbers and find themselves being served with restraining orders. Finally, you find them under bridges spray painting posts on the concrete. All because everyone else on that forum did not have the intelligence to understand their own brilliance.

SEE WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO THEM!

I can neither confirm nor deny that I might or might not have been banned a time or two on a site or two over the years but they would have been “time outs” rather than bannings. Some sites, I didn’t care if I was banned and on some I may have actually pushed the limit knowing it would lead to a ban. There is an entertainment value in that.

These are just web chat rooms on the Google machine. They are for entertainment purposes. Some times the most entertaining comments lead to a ban. No biggie really. Nothing to get too worked up over.

As an admin and mod on some sites, I find that its usually a topic that leads to the time out. People get passionate. That’s a good thing. Some take these sites far too seriously. These site are opinions based and everybody is entitled to my opinion.

I think the "Metro" melt down was historic, with "HCH" being a close second. While hardcores took a little longer to manifest and conclude , Metro's was like a star burst, extreme but short lived.
Both were a pleasure to have been involved with.
