Who else hates them as much as me?

I have PNC, a free checking and a virtual wallet account.

    BIGGEST SCAM ON EARTH!

ATM fees, too many transfer fees, ridiculous hours, expensive checks, broken promises....the list of bull**** goes on and on and on...

I just got charged $15 for making too many internet transfers? WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? I work 24 hour shifts 7 to 7 and i live 30 minutes from town. The bank is never open when im in town. My truck payment is instant if i do it online, it takes days if i mail it. They advertise how easy it is to transfer money online, yet then they secretly charge me for it? Damnit all!

    I don't have any problems

I do 100% of my banking online

I use Chase, Ally, and a local bank. I'm constantly transferring money from one to the other. Never charged for transfer fees...

I go with a local credit union. Don't pay any fees the way I utilize them, I believe.

Siman, I have PNC also, but I got grandfathered in on some of the stuff. Ya, they charge for making too many transfers, I think my limit is 4 free ones per month. I'm looking to change banks...I might go with US
    Bank.

Why would someone need to transfer money multiple times per week between personal bank accounts? I can understand between business and personal accounts, but I find it humorous when my friends deposit 3/4 of their check into savings, only to slowly transfer it back into checking as it is needed throughout the week/month. Why not just leave it in checking, is it to get that extra 0.4% interest? Lol

Rant aside, I use BBT for my personal checking and savings and have a business account through them as well. Manage all three, transfer moneys, pay bills, and look up expenses all from my iPhone app and never pay fees. They often even waive the cold check fees for me when I have one bounce that I deposited.

Join a Credit Union and you likely won't have to worry about that stuff.

My wife and I both have PNC and are very happy. Sorry to hear they've been terrible for you. We have two branches within 10 minutes though, so our situation seems a little different. Do you have direct deposit? They are a lot easier to deal with if you do. Also, my wife is a school teacher, and has been a member for many years so all ATM fees are waved. Good luck finding a new one though! Just stay away from Capital One.

Banks are just like any other service or product - shop until you find what you like. Credit unions are usually the best bet.

I have a local bank and am very satisfied with it. However, I pay for everything in cash. My banking is very basic. I use a free checking account to pay the bills, and a generic savings account. I track all my investments online and yes there are some transfer fees there but those are normal and I can control them also.

No problem with my bank. M and T. No charges, no fees, interest on checking account. Hey, I know, it's not much but they don't charge me to get my own money.

I got my truck payment statement in the mail today, it said I have 12 months left on my loan..

I decided to just go down to Chase and pay the loan off and save the 12 months interest. It took nearly an hour to complete the simple task of paying my loan off. All I wanted to do was pay the loan off with money in my savings account....

    1 frickin hour. Unbelievable.

Trevor, i get what your saying,

But im not very good with money, especially now that im making alot more then im used too. I put a certain amount in savings, a certain amount in checking, and then pay my bills. Usually my guesstimate for the 2 weeks is off though...lol

I am over accounting and payroll at work and I am surprised the number of employees who do not elect direct deposit.

Must be a different M&T than I had...

Charged a fee for ATM withdraws if they weren't from an M&T ATM. Charged a fee for transferring money to another bank account (non-M&T). Messed up my direct deposit more than once and at one point in time I found a deposit in one of my accounts that wasn't mine... what a bank huh?

I switched to USAA (you don't have to be a veteran to use their bank now). No fees whatsoever. I get any ATM fee credited back to my account. I get 1% cashback on check card purchases. Their website actually works and has many more tools and features that make tracking and organizing my money much easier.

    M&T Sucks IMO
