I was watching an episode of The Hunting Public tonight and one of the guys shot a turkey with a metal band on its leg in Missouri. He was pretty excited about it. I have never hunted for turkeys before, so I wonder if ya'll knew if there was some reward system in place for a tagged turkey. Thanks!
My first year hunting at "turkey camp" we shot 4 jakes between 3 of us. 3 had bands. I was 10 and it was my first turkey. Mine was the only one without a band lol there was a public land property 23 miles that they were released on. I thought that was interesting even as a little guy. Anyway the state of Ohio sent my dad and cousin little pins similiar to fish ohio pins and stuff like that. I think they kinda mainly use them for tracking purposes kinda like waterfowl. Was still awesome and he still has the pin and band to this day. Might check with your state wildlife agency just for your own curiosity. Sent from my LML212VL using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
